Amp Health welcomes media veteran, Femi Oke, to its Partnership Board

Femi Oke

Board Member, Amp Health

Amp Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Femi Oke, an award-winning British-Nigerian journalist, media leader, and advocate for representation in global conversations, to our Partnership Board. With more than 30 years of international experience across the BBC, Al Jazeera, and CNN, Femi brings a powerful blend of storytelling, facilitation, and strategic insight to Amp Health’s mission.

In today’s complex global health landscape, how we tell stories about our work is more critical than ever. Femi’s appointment reflects Amp Health’s growing commitment to elevating public sector voices, surfacing lessons from the field, and amplifying the leadership of teams on the frontlines. Her presence on the Board signals an intentional investment in narrative, engagement, and the power of authentic storytelling to shift systems and unlock progress.

Femi’s work has taken her across continents, amplifying stories from communities often overlooked in global dialogue. She played a key role in launching CNN’s Inside Africa, and her contributions to journalism and public discourse have earned recognition from the Economic Community of West African States, the African Communications Agency, and InterAction. As co-founder of Moderate the Panel, Femi also champions greater visibility of diverse female moderators at global events, and has facilitated discussions at the World Health Summit and the OECD Forum.

The stories and communities I have covered as a journalist, the issues I’ve advocated for and broadcast around the world, and the skills I’ve learned along the way have led me to Amp Health’s Partnership Board. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and explore how to apply it to support Amp Health’s vision.
— Femi Oke

Amp Health’s Executive Director, Dr Robert Newman, expressed his enthusiasm for Femi’s appointment, noting Femi’s “rare capacity to engage diverse audiences and elevate critical conversations”, qualities that will help strengthen Amp Health’s influence across the global health community.

Femi’s expertise in narrative, public engagement, and convening will be invaluable as Amp Health continues to support Ministries of Health across Africa and beyond to build visionary, effective public sector teams.

We look forward to working alongside her in this next chapter.
